Luke Bryan, country star, two time CMA entertainer of the year award winner, and Leesburg,GA native, is no doubt the face of country music. Luke Bryan was born in Leesburg,GA in 1976 and was influenced by country music from the day he was born. Luke was a huge face figure in his town for singing and everyone knew he was going to become a Country Star, but they knew he had to figure out to get there. That's when Luke realized the only way to become huge in Country is to achieve success in Nashville. Shortly before Luke was going to move to Nashville to rise to fame his older brother Chris was killed in a car accident. Soon after the loss of his brother, Luke's father told him to pack his truck and pursue his career to become a songwriter. Luke eventually made it in Nashville and slowly rose to fame.

Some of Luke Bryan's hit songs are That's My Kind of Night, Rollercoaster, Checkin Out, and Spring Breakdown. Some of Luke Bryan's albums are Tailgates & Tanlines, Crash my Party, and his newest album debut which came out in March, Spring Break...Checkin Out. Luke has worked with many famous artists in the past years including one of my other favorite bands Florida Georgia Line. In 2014, Luke was awarded CMA Entertainer of The Year and Billboard music award for Top Country artist. Luke is one of those artists who will sell out in any of his shows and somehow be able to make everyone there have a great time. Unfortunately, Luke will not come to Massachusetts this year for his tour, Kick up the dust. We aren't quite sure however if Luke is going to be returning to Massachusetts in 2016, but let's hope so.
The Cleveland cavaliers are one of the top teams in the NBA. But, they do not have a good history. They have never won a championship. They only have one conference title over the decades that their team has been in the nba. They need LeBron James to carry this team in order for them to make it to the playoffs. And even he can't do it without help from a couple of other star players. For example he had Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh in Miami with the heat. And now he has come back to Cleveland to play alongside Kyrie Irving and Kevin Love. But we're going to be focusing on their history.
Their best season was in 2008-09 with LeBron. He is arguably the best Cavalier to ever play the game of basketball. He won the MVP award for his first time in the year 2008-09 and then again in 2009-2010 he went back to back once again in 2011-12 and 2012-13. Some people argue that LeBron is the best to ever play the game in the whole NBA. LeBron James was with the Cavs for the beginning of his career since he was drafted to Cleveland in 2003.

The cavaliers nba basketball team first season was 1970/ 1971. The team was  made up of players that other teams didn't want . The first coach was Bill Fitch ' 1970 to 1979 . In 1973 / 1974 season the Cavs drafted  jim brewer from the university of Minnesota . The  season1986 / 1987 was a better season because they drafted Ron Harper, Brad Daugherty and Mark Price.

Do's and Don'ts of the 8th Grade Dance by Gemma Cenci and Catie Coumounduros

The eighth grade dance and graduation is an exciting night to celebrate our three years at Coolidge. To the girls, this night is a fun night to dress up and look pretty. With dressing up though, there are a lot of Do's and Dont's.

We can start with the Do's. At the celebration, make sure you don't get too fancy. You don't need a full on prom dress, but at the same time you don't want something too casual. Make sure your dress is a little fancier than a usual sundress, but make sure you're not dressed for a prom! Also make sure your dress is nice and cool and you won't get too hot in it. Our graduation is at the end of June, so it is bound to be hot. You want to be sure you don't overheat and wear a short sleeve or tank top dress. A last do is to accessorize. You can never go wrong with cute earrings and a bracelet! Bringing a little purse or clutch is also a good idea too in case you need somewhere to put your phone or anything you want to bring, but not want to hold! You're going to want to make sure you use these Do's to look your best at the eighth grade dance!

With all of those cute tips, you know some Don'ts are coming! Listen up to these Don'ts to make sure you look super good and feel comfortable at the dance. First of all, don't wear something too heavy that you will be super hot in during the graduation. This event takes place at the end of June in the hot gym, you're  definitely going to want short sleeve or tank top straps! Another don't is to not over accessorize. A lot of cute dresses today have a lot of designs anyways, so sometimes you don't need a lot of jewelry to match it. Also remember that it's not a fancy occasion, just dress casual and have a good time!

Hopefully you found these tips helpful for choosing your outfit to the eighth grade dance. Put these tips into consideration so you can look perfect on the big day! Don't stress out and have a great time! Also, and obvious do, make sure to take lots of pictures in your awesome outfits!

New York Trip by Gemma Cenci

On June 3rd Team Pegasus is going on field trip to New York, for Spanish class. I can't wait to go. Here are some of the place we will be visiting.

-911 site
-Rockefeller center
-Empire State Building
-The phantom of the opera
-Statue of Liberty
-Grand central station

At the 911 site we might see the survivor tree. The trunk of a callery pear tree was pulled from the smoldering rubble of the World Trade Center site After the 2001 attack. The tree earned the name "Survivor  Tree," and has grown to become a living reminder of survival.

Another site I can't wait to go see is the Rockefeller center. We will be going on the roof to go see the amazing view. The Rockefeller center was built by the Rockefeller family, it Is located in Midtown, Manhattan.   Another place we will be visiting in Midtown, Manhattan is the Empire State Building. It stood as the world's tallest building for nearly 40 Years. Now The Empire State Building is currently the fourth-tallest completed skyscraper in the United States.

The Phantom of the Opera is a novel by French writer Gaston Leroux. The opera is romantic, and a  scary show with great emotions.

We will also be visiting The Statue of Liberty by a ferry. We won't be going into The Staue of Liberty, but we will be taking an audio tour and passing by on a ferry!

It is a long trip with a lot of walking, but we will have loads of fun!

Baltimore Riots by Carolyn Biggart

Over the course of the last few weeks there has been a lot of controversy in Baltimore, Maryland. On April 12, 2015, a 25 year old black man, named Freddie Gray, was arrested in west Baltimore. There is no evidence supporting why he was arrested. Gray made eye contact with a police officer then took off running, so naturally the officer pursued. There was no reason as to why Gray would have been in trouble with the police, because there were no charges against him.

The reserve sheriff's deputy in Tulsa, Oklahoma pleaded not guilty to second degree manslaughter charge in the death of the man he shot. He claims the shooting happened while trying to tase the man, but as made clear by the riots, some people disagree. They say that the death was discriminatory, as the victim was black.

Somehow Gray sustained injuries to his spinal cord, and larynx. The cause of the injuries is unclear, but some eyewitnesses claim police used unnecessary force. So, if there was no serious reason to arrest him other than him running, why would the police feel the need to use force at all? After his death on April 19th, protests against the police turned into large and devastating riots. Rocks were hurled at police, patrol cars were destroyed, store windows were smashed, and buildings were torched. More than a dozen officers were injured, six of them seriously. On top of that, more than a dozen arrests were made. The Orioles postponed their Monday night game because of the violence, as it was taking place only three miles away from the stadium.

All of these events have fallen under the highly publicized discrimination of blacks, and people's efforts to help create equality.

Boston Marathon Winners by Sarah Caporale

On Monday, April 20th was the 118th Boston Marathon. The Boston Marathon is 26.2 miles that 26,610 people have finished this year. The two winners are Lelisa Desisa of Ethiopia and Caroline Rotich of Kenya. The first Boston Marathon was on April 19, 1897. Roberta Gibbs was the first woman ever to finish the Boston Marathon in 1966. The Boston Marathon was the first major marathon to include a wheelchair division in which Bob Hall in 1975 was the first man to race in the marathon in a wheelchair.

Lelisa Desisa was the first person to cross the 2015 Boston Marathon finish line for the men's elite division. He finished in 2:09:17 beating himself from the 2013 marathon with a time of 2:10:22. Lelisa has won a silver metal in the world championship in Moscow in 2013. In the All Africa Games in 2011 he won a gold metal in the half marathon. Lelisa has accomplished a lot more and only at the age of 25.

Caroline Rotich is the winner for the woman elite division in the 2015 Boston Marathon. She finished in an impressive 2:24:55 time. Caroline is 30 years old and was born in Nyahururu Kenya. Caroline has also represented Kenya at the world championship in athletics in 2011.
